Charge Entry Specialist
Position Responsibilities
• Enter patient charges accurately and efficiently.
• Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
• Process insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner.
• Utilize insurance portals to review claim status.
• Research and resolve claim denials, taking appropriate corrective action.
• Maintain accurate documentation within patient accounts.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely claim submission and reimbursement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 years of medical billing experience.
• Experience with charge entry, accounts receivable follow-up, payment posting, or a combination of these functions preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification claims processing, and denial management.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Preferred
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding concepts.
Technical Skills
• Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with electronic medical billing software and practice management systems.
• Familiarity with insurance carrier websites and electronic clearinghouses.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
